Bon Secours Care Village incorporates St. Joseph's Hospital and Cedar Lodge Independent living apartments. St. Joseph's Hospital is a one hundred and three bedded  care home facility within Bon Secours Care Village. The hospital is a purpose built facility, built in 2002, and extensively refurbished in 2018. Cedar Lodge consists of 7 individual apartments suited to independent living in a safe, comfortable and secure environment. Our Care Village is regulated by HIQA’s National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland.

 

BSHS has grown steadily over the last decade and has invested €150M in up-grading and developing its facilities and technologies. In 2019, BSHS became affiliated with Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH), one of the largest Catholic healthcare systems in the USA, which employs over 60,000 people in 48 hospitals and has 1,000 points of care across 6 states. It is the ambition of the enlarged global health system to further expand into Europe, with Ireland as the base for this expansion.

 

Role:

Bon Secours Health System (BSHS) now wish to appoint a Director of Nursing/ Person in Charge  to provide strong strategic and operational leadership to Bon Secours Care Village, ensuring the provision of quality, safe and effective services synonymous with our reputation in delivering exceptional care. Key responsibilities include overall governance and leadership, strategic planning, risk management, financial and people management all driven by a strong quality & safety culture in a high performance environment.

 

The postholder will be NMBI registered, hold a post registration management qualification in health or a related field and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management capacity in the health and social care area and a minimum of 3 years out of the last 6 years in a care of the older person setting. The postholder will have a passion for providing a social model of care to older people recognising and upholding the human rights of each resident. They will work collaboratively with all key stakeholders to build a culture of engagement, innovation, continuous learning and improvement. The person needs to be versatile, self-reliant, well organised, innovative and be an able communicator with strong analytical skills.

 

Reporting to the Chief Nursing, Quality and Patient Safety Officer of the Bon Secours Health System, this post carries an attractive and competitive remuneration package.
