St. Mary’s Centre (Telford) is a specialised healthcare facility for visually impaired ladies. Successful applicants will be required to have good communication skills and must satisfy all requirements under the HIQA Regulations with regard to Garda Vetting, References and all documentation required under Schedule 2 of the Health Act 2007, Regulations 2013.

The appointee will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of high quality care to 26 older persons in St. Oliver’s Nursing Unit. This is a key management post and the appointee will be expected to play an important role in service management and development.

The primary role of the Acting-Up Clinical Nurse Manager II will be one of managing the Nursing Unit providing clinical and professional leadership to the nursing/ care and non-care team. To direct and manage all staff of the Unit. The Acting-Up CNM II reports to the CSM/ Registered PIC.

The successful candidate will have the following;  

Qualifications Required:

  • Applicants must be a Registered General Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Have relevant experience in care of the elderly with an in-depth knowledge of the ageing process. A diploma in Gerontology would be an advantage.
  • Qualification/ experience in a Management role would be an advantage.

Salary will be on the appropriate point of the HSE Scale for the position and evidenced experience.

The Post of CNM II will be subject to a probationary on-going review period of 6 months with possible extension if required, in line with standard Terms & Conditions of Employment. The successful candidate will successfully meet the necessary requirements set out in the Job Description for the role.
